The government of Italy is a Parliamentary Democracy. A Parliamentary Democracy means that it is a system where representatives are elected by the people to a parliament to make laws. Italy is also a part of the EU. It has been since March 25, 1957.
The name of the prime minister of Italy is Sergio Mattarela.
